The purpose
of pre-primary education is to prepare children for primary education. Recently,
the Ministry of Education Science and Technology though Tanzania Institute of
Education introduced a new Pre-Primary Education Curriculum and Syllabus.
Pre-Primary
Education in Tanzania
The
education system in Tanzania comprises two years of pre-primary education,
seven years of primary education, four years of ordinary secondary education,
two years of advanced secondary education, and three or more years of
tertiary/higher education. Until 2015, basic education consisted of seven years
of compulsory primary education for children aged 7-13 years
