Basic Education

According to ISCED standard, basic education comprises primary education (first stage of basic education) and lower secondary education (second stage).

Basic education provides a platform for learners to acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to live a productive life.

The Tanzanian educational system operates on the 7-4-2-3 system: 7 years of primary school, followed by 4 years of secondary school (Ordinary Level) leading to 2 years of Advanced Level.
