Unified Teaching Service (UTS) established in 1962
The UTS was a regulatory body which established in mainland Tanzania soon after independence (1962) following the education ordinance act of 1961 which, among other issues, wanted to eliminate the racial segregation system inherited from colonial education system.
The UTS was not a professional body. It wanted to remove racial segregation which was left by the colonialists.
