MEANING OF HISTORY
The term ‘history’ originates from the Greek word ‘historia’ which means to Question or to Ask; to search or inquire for the truth and then report the findings.
History is defined as the study of the past and present human activities.
According to E. H. Carr, on his book "What Is History?" a 1961 non-fiction book, Carr defined History as a continuous process of interaction between the historian and his facts, an unending dialogue between the present and the past. Carr's book discusses history, facts, the bias of historians, science, morality, individuals and society, and moral judgements in history.
