What imperatives are teachers supposed to do in order to fulfill the duty to pupil?
1. To promote conditions for pupil learning – to create and sustain the condition that will allow the students to learn. In order for learning to take place, we need to consider both pedagogy and moral imperatives.
In order to do so you need:
a. To plan learning activities
b. To decide,
c. To create and reflect on the conditions of learning.
Conditions for leaner to learn, there should be:
i. Motivation and encouragement,
ii. Be well in the subject matter,
iii. We need also to provide opportunity to learn,
iv. Use the appropriate curriculum materials,
v. Provide clear instruction and methods which are going to be used to measure students’ progresses.
2. The teacher, the father figure or mother figure. Teachers are surrogate parents in the primary and secondary level. Then what do parents do to their kids: protection and to ensure they meet their basic needs. Therefore, teachers are expected to do the same way to the pupils, not to harm them.
3. Teacher, the disciplinarian; you as a teacher will obey the rules. It is a way of training in order to control pupil’s behaviors
