Teacher and learner relation
It is theway the teacher interacts with their students. Such values include:
- Punctuality
- Fairness – (eg in the marking students’ works)
- Caring
- Neatness
- Excellence
- Trust, and
- Honest
Teachers are expected to demonstrate such values everywhere, not in the work places alone.
Since teaching is an ethical enterprise, then teachers need to treat students fairly and impartially.
The virtue of fairness is grounded in the ethical principles of social justice.
2. Teaching is prone to evaluation in moral terms. People give moral of teaching i.e. judging
whether something is good or bad. Even in schools assessment is done in terms of
comments.
4.3 The parameters of teachers’ moral concerns and engagement
The parameters/normative of teaching undertaking (ethical dimensions of teaching as a moral undertaking)
These are dimensions or factors that justify that teaching is a moral undertaking:
1. Teaching stands to be evaluated as professionally good or bad by people using some standards. People give moral assessment of teaching through some references.
The judgment is either good or bad behaviors.
